Our story

Helmy Law was founded in 2013 by Wael Helmy to offer businesses an alternative to large-firm legal advice: senior attention, practical answers and costs agreed upfront.

The practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, with particular attention to how a company’s legal structure and its tax position fit together, a question that is often left until after a business has been set up.

How we work

Every matter at Helmy Law is led by Wael Helmy, who is your single point of contact from the first call to completion. You are never handed to a junior team.

When a matter needs presence in Egypt, such as attending the authorities, notarial or registration offices, or court, Wael instructs experienced Egyptian lawyers under his direction and responsibility. They work to his instructions, and documents are reviewed and approved by Wael before anything is filed or signed. Your engagement letter states who will be involved in your matter.

  • One lawyer, one point of contact. The person who advises you is the person who is accountable to you.
  • Lean costs, passed on as fixed fees. We do not carry the overhead of a large office, so fees are quoted upfront and kept predictable.
  • Remote-first. Calls, document review and approvals are handled electronically. Where original signatures or in-person steps are required in Egypt, we arrange them locally.
  • Confidentiality across the whole matter. Everyone who works on your matter is bound by the same duty of confidentiality, and conflicts are checked before we accept an instruction.
